Wheat

Wheat

You know, I don’t understand what’s happening in today’s North American society. I mean, wheat used to be “wheat” totally agreeable with the human body. But because it’s been altered and messed with in ways that the human body doesn’t recognize anymore, it’s regarded as a toxin to the body. That is why there are so many people with gluten intolerances these days. Never did we hear of gluten intolerances when we were growing up. Never did we experience the number of gluten free restaurants popping up. Never did we have to consciously decide to eat other grains such as flax, Quinoa or Buckwheat.

Wheat is the number one or number two food that we rebalance. But, although we rebalance you for wheat, we don’t advocate that you should be on wheat. Just like sugar. We can rebalance it, but to stay on it for an extended period of time is detrimental to your health and abuse may result in reactivation of the original sensitivity. That’s why we subscribe to the 80-20 rule, where 80% of the time you should be staying away from wheat and 20% of the time you can treat yourself. Why the 20%? Because it would be unreasonable to have you stay away from wheat 100% of the time (unless you’re a fanatic like my wife…hope she’s not listening). When you go out to eat or perhaps when you go over to a friend’s house, you can’t help but eat wheat. So, go ahead and enjoy yourself for the night but the next day, you should be back on the non-eating wheat thing again.
